BMW X3 and X5 launched with Petrol Engines

X3 xDrive28i xLine- Rs 54.90 lakh; X5 xDrive35i- Rs 73.50 lakh

The luxury car makers are shifting their focus from diesel engines to petrol engines. BMW recently added 320i and 520i sedans to its line-up. The turbo-petrol engine powering them is being assembled at BMW’s plant in Chennai. Now, the German automaker has added petrol variants for its SUV range. The X3 xDrive28i xLine and X5 xDrive35i Design Pure Experience are the new additions.

BMW X3 xDrive28i xLine is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that churns out 245PS of power and 350Nm of torque. This gives it a 0-100kmph time of 6.5 seconds. This variant comes loaded with bi-xenon headlights with DRL LEDs, panorama roof, LED foglights, 2-zone climate control and 205W, 9-speaker sound system.

BMW X5 xDrive35i utilise a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 306PS of power and 400Nm of torque. This SUV also does 0-100kmph in just 6.5 seconds, identical to the X3 xDrive28i’s time. This X5 variant also boasts features like a powered tailgate, heated wing mirrors, adaptive headlights, 4-zone climate control, and Harman Kardon 600W, 16-speaker music system. Both X3 and X5 utilise an 8-speed automatic gearbox and has all-wheel drive capability.
