Bajaj launched new KTM RC 390 at Rs 2.25 Lakh & RC 200 at Rs 1.72 lakh
The much awaited launch of the 2017 models of KTM RC twin models was announce by Bajaj Auto on 19 Jan’17. The bigger sibling, RC 390 costs Rs 2,25,300, while the smaller one, RC 200 has been priced at Rs 1,71,740 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The two, not just make way with advanced gear, the robust RC 390 has also been endowed with mechanical revamp.
You can now get the RC 390 with a black and orange colored body along with intriguing and attractive brand new white graphic design. Till now the orange that had primarily been used to highlight the wheels and the trellis frame, will now further enhance the flamboyance by using orange on the body panels as well. These 2017 updates also include a mechanical boost up, as the motorcycle receives a bigger disc of 320 mm as opposed to the current 300 mm. It also conforms to the latest emission norms and has a side mounted exhaust instead of the underbelly unit.There are also a few features that stay intact, like switchable ABS, slipper clutch and ride-by-wire.
As for the RC 200 2017 upgrade, the look of the bike accounts for a majority of the changes and updates. This one gets to flaunt a combination of white and black with a graphic design in orange. To provide more comfort to the riders, the pillion seat has an extra 12 mm padding.
Now, on the power front, the RC 390 has 373.3 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled mill, which has been upgraded for this latest version. The liquid-cooled mill now conforms to Euro-4. The power output produced remains the same and the engine produces 43.5 PS at 9000 rpm. Max torque however, has been increased to 36 Nm at 7000rpm. Similarly, RC 200 upgrade also features the same 199 cc single cylinder to power it. The power output produced is also the same at 25 PS and 19.2 Nm. However, unlike the RC 390, this bike continues to run with the existing underbelly exhaust system.
