Bookings Open for BMW G310 R & G310 GS

BMW Motorrad finally delivers. The bookings for BMW G310 R and BMW G310 GS will commence from 8th June. BMW and TVS were working on this motorcycle for over 3 years and we have been waiting for them to launch this entry-level BMW Motorrad product in India. Both of these 310 cc BMWs can be booked by depositing Rs 50,000. The pricing has not been announced yet but some dealerships are giving ballpark figures of around Rs 3 lakh for G310 R and Rs 3.50 lakh for the G310 GS. While the official bookings will start after two days, the dealers are accepting the bookings already. Fun Fact: TVS RR 310 benefited from the development of G310 R

BMW Motorrad has also not said about the number of units they expect to sell this year as this is a new market for the Bavarian brand in India. BMW has said that deliveries will be done on the first-come-first-serve basis.

In India, BMW Motorrad first showcased the G310 R at the 2016 Auto Expo. Then in 2018 Auto Expo, the company showcased both G310 R and the G310 GS. The lightweight adventure motorcycle G310 GS first debuted at the 2016 EICMA Motorcycle show. While we knew about the development of G310 R for a long lime but G310 GS test mule was spied first time in 2016.

Powering both 310 BMW twins will be a 313cc reversed single cylinder engine that makes 35 PS of power and 28 Nm of torque. It is a liquid cooled unit with DOHC (double overhead cam) cylinder head design. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The chassis is tabular steel frame design with monoshock at the rear.

BMW G 310 R will compete with KTM Duke 390

Both of these beginner-friendly motorcycles from the Bavarian brand are made available in the International market. It good that now we Indians have options in this segment that is ruled by KTM Duke 390.
