Hero XPulse showcased at 2018 Auto Expo

Last year, Hero XPulse adventure motorcycle debuted at the EICMA motor show. Now, a closer to production-spec has been showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. With the active participation of HERO in adventure motorcycle sport like Dakar, something like XPulse was bound to be introduced. While HERO has previously launched the Impulse 150cc motorcycle, however, it failed to register good sales numbers. It’s small 150cc engine was one of the reasons for that.

The XPulse fixes that with a more potent 199.5cc engine. This single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor makes 18.1 bhp at 8000rpm and 17.1 Nm of twisting force at 6000rpm. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. Being an adventure bike, the XPulse comes with long-travel suspension with 190mm telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock with 180mm travel. The brake system comprises of a single disc setup at both front and back. Hero Xpulse will also get switchable ABS.

The Xpulse will get 21-inch front spoke rim and 18-inch rear spoke wheel, contributing to the ground clearance of 220mm. Other equipment on this adventure bike includes LED lights, luggage rack, digital console, smartphone connectivity, and knuckle guards.

Hero Xpulse vs Impulse

Hero XPulse is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2018. And the pricing could land somewhere around Rs 1.25 lakh mark. It’s competition in the market, the RE Himalayan is priced considerably higher than that.
