Honda CBR1000RR Price Reduced; Most affordable Superbike in India

Honda Motorcycles has slashed the prices of its superbike category contenders- CBR1000RR and CBR1000RR SP. The standard variant CBR1000RR which previously was priced at Rs 16.79 lakh now costs Rs 14.78 lakh. The racier CBR1000RR SP, previously priced at Rs 21.22 lakh, now costs Rs 18.68 lakh (All prices Ex-showroom, Delhi). This translates to a drop of Rs 2.01 lakh on the standard model and a drop of Rs 2.54 lakh for the SP variant. This price cut is again due to revision in the Custom duty structure where 25% relaxation was provided on CBU (completely built unit) motorcycles.

Honda CBR1000RR was just recently updated in 2017. The changes to this latest generation CBR1000RR are not just cosmetic but it’s a ground-up new design. Honda claims that almost 90 percent of the motorcycle is all-new. Being a litre class superbike, it’s powered by a 999 cc inline-four cylinder engine that pumps out 190 PS of power at 12500 rpm and 111Nm of torque at 10,500rpm. The new CBR1000RR is 16kg lighter than the previous model, standing on the scale at 195kg. Combining reduced weight with increased powers give around 14 percent bump in power to weight ratio.

While the previous model was quite analogue in nature, the new one is loaded with electronic riding aids like 9-level traction control, gyroscopic ABS, selectable engine braking, multiple riding modes, and electronic steering damper. The CBR1000RR SP get additional features like quickshifter with downshifter and semi-active Ohlins electronic control suspension setup comprising of 43mm NIX30 front forks and TTX36 monoshock.

After this price revision, the Honda CBR1000RR is now the most affordable 1000cc race replica superbike in India. This is a tempting offer for sure because the motorcycle itself is quite competitive in its category, and the price just makes the deal even sweeter.
