Indian Motorcycles prices Dropped by Upto Rs 3 lakh

After the government announced 25% relaxation on the customs duty of imported motorcycles, several manufacturers have revised their prices. Indian Motorcycles has also joined this group and extended to benifit of upto Rs 3 lakh. This drop in refreshed pricing depends model to model. The custom duty on these CBU motorcycles is slashed from 75% to 50%. One exception in this case are the motorcycles that comes from Thailand as India already has Free Trade Agreement with Thailand. (Harley-Davidson dropped the prices last week)

Talking of some of the Indian Motorcycle’s models, the Scout is now 29,500 cheaper, Scout Bobber is Rs 1 lakh cheaper. Price of Indian Cheif Dark Horse is reduced by Rs 2.44 lakh, while Cheid Classic is now affordable by Rs 69,500. (Read: Indian Scout Bobber Revealed)

Commenting on the import price cut and revised prices of the Indian lineup, Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director & Country Head, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are glad that the Government has rationalised the import duty structure to 50 per cent across the range for imported bikes. The new attractive price of our products available in India will definitely lead to more sales. This will also create opportunities for enthusiasts to buy our iconic products and be a part of the Indian Motorcycle family.”
