Updated Yamaha R3 launched at Auto Expo

Yamaha has relaunched the YZF-R3 with some updates at the 2018 Auto Expo. The pricing of the R3 has been kept at Rs 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and it comes in two paint scheme: Racing Blue and Magma Black. Read about legacy of Yamaha RX100

What are the new Updates? When Yamaha R3 was first launched in India, most of the customers complained about the MRF tyres that performed poorly for this motorcycle. Therefore, now Yamaha has given it the stickier Metzeler M5 tyres (110/70 R17 tyre- front and a 140/70 R17 tyre- rear) and dual-channel ABS system. Other aspects of the motorcycle remains the same.

Powering this entry-level sportbike is a 321cc, parallel-twin engine that makes 42 bhp of power at 10,750rpm and 29.6Nm of torque at 9000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Yamaha R3 competes with the Kawasaki Ninja 300 in the Indian market. Although KTM RC390 can also be called its competition because it’s significantly affordable and features a single-cylinder engine.
