Audi RS7 Performance Launched at Rs 1.6 crore

German car maker, Audi has launched the RS7 Performance with a price tag of Rs 1,59,65,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The standard RS7 is was already present in the market for Rs 1.46 crore. The Performance edition remains identical to the standard RS7 visually. However, it gets a tweaked engine to offer increased performance.

Powering the RS7 performance is the same 4.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that powers the standard RS7. However, the engine is tuned to deliver extra 44PS of power, taking the overall output to 605PS of max power and 700Nm of torque. The company claims that the engine could produce 750Nm of torque momentarily during the overboost function. The performance sedan comes with an 8-Speed Tiptronic automatic transmission that sends the power to all four wheel via Quattro system. 0-100kmph comes up in just 3.7 seconds and the top speed is limited to 280kmph. The dynamic package plus bumps the top speed to 305kmph.

From the outside, the RS7 Performance sports aggressive styling that incorporates low hanging bumpers, large air ducts at the front, and air diffuser at the rear. Like most of the RS models, the RS7 Performance gets a gloss black honeycomb grille and flared side sills. Audi claims that 20 percent of the construction material is aluminum. This helps to make it 15 percent lighter that the standard model.

Inside, there is no shortage of luxuries. The seats are wrapped in premium leather upholstery, the MMI infotainment unit controls most of the features, and the bose sound system fills the cabin with acoustics. The company also offers two styling packages- matt aluminum and carbon.
