Datsun redi-GO Automatic Launched at Rs 3.8 lakh

Datsun redi-GO with automatic AMT gearbox has been launched in India. The redi-GO AMT is offered in two variants- T (O) and S, each priced at Rs 3.8 lakh and 3.95 lakh respectively. The deliveries have already begun at Datsun dealerships. Read about different types of automatic gearboxes

Compared to the manual transmission redi-GO, the automatic variant is Rs 22,000 dearer. Rest of the specifications for the car remain similar to its manual counterpart. Powering the Datsun redi-GO AMT is a 1.0-litre engine that makes 68PS of power and 91Nm of torque. This is the same engine that serves the Renault Kwid 1.0.

The Renault Kwid is also offered with AMT transmission, but redi-GO AMT gets 2 extra features that can sway the buyers. The first one is called the creep mode. Using this mode, one does not need to feather throttle during stop and go traffic. Just lifting off the foot from brake pedal makes the car move forward. Then there is a manual mode that gives more control to the driver to select gears.

The comfort features on the automatic redi-GO are unchanged. This includes power windows at the front, music system with Bluetooth connectivity, Daytime running lights and driver airbag. Its competition in the market includes Renault Kwid AMT priced between Rs 3.88 to Rs 4.35 lakh, and Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 AGS priced at Rs 4.18 lakh.
