Facelifted Honda City Launched, starts at Rs 8.5 lakh

2017 Honda City becomes the latest C-segment car as it has undergone a major face-lift and comes with a host of updates. The prices for this fourth-generation City ranges between Rs 8.50 lakh (base-spec petrol) to Rs 13.57 lakh (top-spec diesel). You can have a look at the list of prices mentioned at the end.

One thing that you will never feel short of in a revamped Honda, is LED lamps. All the variants have standard LED daytime running lamps, and to take things a notch higher, the top-spec version flaunts LED headlamps with DRLs, LED fog lamps and tail lamps. They don’t just stop here, there is a similar variety for cabin lights. Showcasing the ‘arrow-shot’ design, it retains the appealing look. The mid-spec V version now has 15-inch alloy wheels, and the top-spec VX & ZX receive more spectacular 16-inch diamond cut alloys. Apart from the much-seen shades- Alabaster Silver Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl and White Orchid Pearl, it also has a brand new color hue to suit your taste, the Modern Steel Metallic.

There are a bunch of features that you will see in this face-lift of the segment, including a one-touch facility for controlling the sun roof and a 7.0 inch touchscreen infotainment unit with MirrorLink. Retaining some of the impressive features, you will get steering mounted audio and telephone controls, power folding mirrors, automatic climate control and cruise control. To add to your convenience, it will also feature a height adjustable driver seat, keyless approach and tilt & telescopic adjust for the steering. Going by what has been in fashion for long, it retains its black and beige color combination for the interiors. Ready to compete against its rival, Hyundai Verna, the top-spec version now has six airbags as it gets additional side and curtain airbags. The other versions will have anti-lock brakes with EBD and dual front airbags.

As for the power front, there are no changes and it continues to run on a 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol motor or a 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine. While the petrol version comes paired with a 5 speed manual transmission or a 7 speed CVT for the top-specs, the diesel version retains the six speed transmission. Fuel efficiency as certified by ARAI has fallen by 0.4 kmpl, and now it is 25.4 kmpl for diesel and 17.4 kmpl for petrol variant. The power output continues to be the same, as the petrol variant produces 119 PS and 145 Nm torque, the diesel has 100 PS and 200 Nm torque. As always, Honda offers a 3 years or unlimited kilometers warranty.
