Jeep Compass Prices Starts at Rs 14.95 lakh (Details Inside)

Jeep Compass was the most awaited car launch of this year. We are saying ‘was’ because the price list of Jeep Compass was officially released yesterday. The base variant Jeep Compass Sport Petrol comes at Rs 14.95 lakh ex-showroom. While the fully loaded top variant diesel Compass Limited (O) has been priced at Rs 20.65 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. This kind of aggressive pricing coming from a Jeep was a real surprise. That’s because it’s only last year that the company debuted in India with expensive products like Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee. The first made-in-India Jeep Compass rolled out earlier this year.

Jeep Compass Variant-wise Price list (*Ex-showroom, Delhi)

Engine and Gearbox-

Jeep Compass comes with two engine options- 1.4-litre Turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine. The Petrol engine makes 162 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor, on the other hand, churns out 173 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Similarly, there are 2 gearbox options- 6-Speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch automatic. But, here is the catch- the 6-Speed manual is offered with both engines but the auto is only available with the petrol engine for now. What about the 4X4 since we are talking about an SUV? Well, 4×4 functionality can only be had with the high-spec Diesel Compass.

Exterior Looks-

The designer of the Jeep Compass took inspiration from the company’s Luxury SUV-the Grand Cherokee. At the front, it retains the classic Jeep grille with seven slats, projector headlamps with Daytime running lights in top variant, and the raised muscular hood. From the side, you will notice downward-sloping roofline and strong shoulder line.

The squared wheel arches that we once a necessity for SUV’s has now become a brand identity. Jeep Compass is a perfect mix of the futuristic and macho design language that continues to show at the rear too. There are five colour options- Hydro Blue, Vocal White, Brilliant Black, Minimal Grey and Exotica Red.

Interiors-

Jeep compass gets a dual-tone interior comprising of ski grey leather seat, door inserts and black soft touch dashboards. At the centre of the dashboard is a Uconnect infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for pairing phone.

The sporty looking steering wheel is leather wrapped with audio control buttons placed behind the wheel. The information cluster in front has a small digital display between two analogue meters. This digital display can be customised to show various information.

Features-

In terms of features, even the base variant is sufficiently kitted out. Some of the features includes DRL projector headlamps, LED tail lights, drive terrain modes ( sand, mud, and snow), Reverse Parking Camera, 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, Passive Entry, Electronic Parking Brake etc.

Most importantly, there are 50 safety and security features. To name some of them- Six airbags, Electronic roll mitigation (ERM), brake booster prefill, Hill start assist, ABS, and Brake throttle overdrive.

Jeep compass will compete with Mahindra XUV500, Tata Hexa, VW Tiguan, Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucsun. The diesel Honda CR-V is expected to join the competition soon. If you are getting ready with your cheque book, keep in mind that already 5000 orders are placed for Jeep Compass. Therefore, be ready to wait for few months to take delivery. To increase the trust factor in Jeep brand, the Compass comes with 3 year/1,00,000 km warranty and long service interval of 15,000 km or 1 year.
