Mahindra Marazzo MPV Launching on 3rd September

Two weeks before, Mahindra teased some images of its upcoming MPV, Mahindra Marazzo. Now, Mahindra has announced that the new compact MPV will be launched on 3rd September 2018. This launch event of Mahindra Marazzo will take place at Mahindra’s plant in Nashik.

All-new Platform

Mahindra Marazzo is based on an all-new platform that will give the company a big boost in terms of quality and scalability. Mahindra plans to bring three all-new platforms to India this year. The other two platform apart from Marazzo’s will form the base for SUV and MUV. Most expensive MPV in India

The next Mahindra launch after Marazzo will happen around Diwali, and then the third new vehicle will be launched later in 2018.

Mahindra has been working on Marazzo for over 4 years at company’s facility in USA and Chennai. For design, Mahindra collaborated with the Pininfarina design house based in Italy.

Looks and Design

While the complete design of the car has not be revealed yet, Mahindra did provide some teasers to warm up for the launch. The teaser clearly shows that Mahindra Marazzo takes inspiration from the shark. In fact, Marazzo translates to ‘Shark’ in the Basque language, and the company is using a shark in one its promos.

Interiors

The interiors images of the Marazzo has been completely revealed. It’s a two-tone interior layout with the upper part of the dashboard being black and the lower part being beige. The seat upholstery will also be beige. The dashboard has a glossy faux wood inlay on the front facing side.

A big touchscreen finds a place in the middle. This will also have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Below the screen are control switches for the air conditioner.

The driver instrumentation cluster is quite vibrant. There are two analogue round meters surrounded by purple lighting. Between them is a digital display shows all sort of information like fuel, engine temp, distance to empty, trip meter, etc. The steering is a fresh design and has integrated control buttons for audio and maybe cruise control.

Mahindra Marazzo will be offered in 7 and 8 seater configuration. Mahindra has also teased the headliner with roof-mounted ‘surround-cool’ AC vents.

Engine & Gearbox

Mahindra Marazzo will get an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine that will produce around 125 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. As seen in the pictures, there will be a six-speed manual gearbox coupled to this engine. Although the possibility of an automatic gearbox can’t be ruled out.
