New BMW Z4 Concept Revealed

BMW fans were curious after we revealed that company is planning to reveal the all-new Z4 at the Pebble Beach. The day has finally arrived, and for the first time, BMW Z4 concept is out in the public. BMW Z4 has remained the definition an ideal roadster ever since it was introduced. Therefore, the new Z4 has great expectations to fulfill. Let’s see what do we have here-

Exterior Design-

The design language is similar to what we saw when the company revealed the 8-Series concept earlier this year. The front-end of the upcoming Z4 features a broad kidney grille with headlights that extends higher up. The body is now more sculpted with strong lines on the bonnet and the side. The aerodynamics of the car seems to have a huge impact on the design. For example- The large air duct near the front wheel arch that helps to clear air from under the car and add downforce integrates well with the side profile. Coming to the rear, the LED taillights look sharp and again reminds of the BMW 8-Series concept. The boot has an upward lip, making the car look sporty even without a spoiler. There are dual exhaust tips that are surrounded by a carbon fiber inlay on the rear bumper.

In the BMW’s Press Release, Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design said “The BMW Concept Z4 in an all-out driving machine. Stripping the car back to the bare essentials allows the driver to experience all the ingredients of motoring pleasure with supreme directness. This is total freedom on four wheels.”

He added: “The BMW Concept Z4 expresses the new BMW design language from all perspectives and in all details. From the dynamic-looking front to the striking flanks to the clean-cut tail end: a few lines and the subtle interplay between surfaces are enough to generate a sense of power and emotion.”

Interiors-

The interiors of the BMW Z4 Concept are designed to complement the exterior design of the car. The colors inside the cabin are adopted from the exterior paint of the car, creating a visual link.
BMW remains true to their concept of focusing on the driver. Designer tries to portray this by giving an all-black finish to elements that encircle the driver. This includes driver’s seat, door trim panel, instrument cluster, and the center stack.

As the Press release says- This creates a pure-of-purpose driving environment with a pronounced “cone of vision”, where the steering wheel, as well as the surrounding black surfaces, appear to be surging forward and, in so doing, accentuate the cabin’s powerful driver focus.

When will we see the production ready BMW Z4?

The BMW Z4 Concept seems to be in the final stages of development. And we are expecting the production car to be very close to the concept we see here. The new BMW Z4 should be launched in early 2018. We are expecting around 15-20% jump in the pricing of the new Z4 compared to the outgoing one.
