Exterior Looks

The new Honda Amaze is a ground-up development and very few parts are shared with the previous-gen Amaze. Look at it from the front or rear, and it difficult to see the similarity between the new and old Amaze. The soft design language on the outgoing model is replaced with a more straight cut design with sharp lines. The taillights are inspired from other Honda’s premium sedans including the previous-gen Accord. The overall result of these changes is that the new Honda Amaze looks and feels more upmarket.

Interiors

Like the exteriors, the interiors of the new Amaze is completely redone. There is a new dashboard, steering wheel, 7-inch touchscreen and new driver information display. The list of features on this new Honda Amaze includes cruise control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto in top variants, push to start, parking camera, and parking sensors. The new chassis is spacious has resulted in more cabin space and even the boot space is class leading 420 litres.

In terms of safety, Honda needs to be applauded as Amaze comes with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard.

Engine and Gearbox

Honda Amaze comes with two engines- 1.2-litre i-Vtec petrol engine making 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre i-Dtec diesel engine pumping out 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines can be had with two gearbox options- 5-speed manual or a CVT Automatic. Diesel engine with a CVT gearbox is a segment first offering and should give Amaze an edge over its rivals.
