We have been regularly spotting Maruti Suzuki Ciaz test mule. Now, after waiting for more than a year, Maruti has released a teaser video of upcoming Ciaz. The company also confirmed earlier that the new Ciaz will be launched in August with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine. We spotted a Ciaz almost a year back also

From what we can notice in the teaser video, the changes are very subtle. Let’s see some of the changes that we can make out:

The front of the Ciaz will be refreshed with redesigned headlights with DRLs, new mesh front grille, and a few chrome bits. Ciaz was spied in Spain also

Like the headlights, the taillights will be LED as well. But the outer shell of the light retains the same design. The interiors also seem to get only minor touches, nothing that stands out.

So what is Maruti Suzuki testing for all time? Well, as mentioned before it’s probably the new 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine churns out 105 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque. This K15B 1.5-litre engine also powers the Ertiga in the Indonesian market. But this engine will also use the Suzuki’s mild-hybrid technology. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will retain the 5-Speed manual gearbox, Although a CVT transmission can’t be ruled out.

The diesel engine will continue to be 1.3-litre DDiS200 that makes 90PS of power and 200 Nm of torque.

To find out all the details, all we have to do is wait for few more days as the new Ciaz is launching next month. This Sedan will be priced in the range of 8 to 13 lakhs were it will go against VW Vento, Honda City, and Hyundai Verna.
