New Maruti Suzuki Swift Launched at Rs 4.99 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the updated Swift at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Introductory pricing of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift ranges between Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Price list of 12 variants of the new Swift-

There are two engine options- Petrol and Diesel and two transmission options- 5-Speed manual and AMT automatic. Looking at the pricing, we can conclude that the Diesel engine commands and a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the petrol counterpart. The Petrol engine Swift claims an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 22 Km/L and Diesel engined Swift delivers a mileage of 28.4 Km/L.

The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, K-Series one that makes 84 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is a 1.3-litre turbocharge, FIAT sourced, Multijet motor that churns out 76 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque. Both the engines can be had with either a manual gearbox or with an AMT auto gearbox. The changes to the new Swift goes skin deep, In fact it uses an all-new HEARTECT platform that is around 80 Kg lighter than the outgoing model. (know about different types of automatic gearboxes)

Like the new Dzire that was launched recently, the interiors of the new Swift is also revamped completely. The car gets features like keyless entry, push-button start, climate control and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on the top trims. The interiors of the new Maruti Swift is also roomier and boot size has also been increased. Contributing to this is 20 mm longer wheelbase. The bookings for the new Maruti Suzuki Swift has opened up across India and this can be done by depositing Rs 11,000.
