Production of Revamped Skoda Octavia Begins

October 2016 we heard the news of an updated version of Octavia with some cosmetic changes and now its production has begun. Skoda has chosen Mladá Boleslav as the main center for Octavia facelift manufacture. Its Europe supply will jump-off soon, however we will have to wait till the latter part of the year to see it in the Indian markets.

Apart from the quirky headlamps, it will also feature, split-styled headlights, with its top-end variants flaunting full LEDs. It will feature a broader radiator grille. The front bumper has also been tuned up with redone lines, with a re-positioning for fog lamp housing. While the rear gets a revamped profile with all new LED lights, the silhouette remains unchanged. The crease lines added in the Octavia’s facelift, will also be featured on Skoda’s SUV, Kodiaq.

Mladá Boleslav, the chief production hub for the Octavia is not the only manufacturing unit, China, Russia, India, Kazakhstan and Ukraine are also centers for its production and Algeria is expected to be added to this list pretty soon. Being the production kickoff site, Mladá Boleslav will also act as a helping hand to the other sites for the manufacture of the facelifted model, including the Indian hub.

In September 2016, Skoda rejoiced the completion of 20 years of the production of its bestselling model of all time, the Octavia. With over two decades of production and sales, Skoda Octavia has served over five million individuals and families as a well loved car.

As for our Indian market, we have quite recently seen the launch of a brand new variant of the Rapid. It is also expected to witness the launch of the Kodiaq by the end of the year and a lot of eyes are set for this one. Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour are the rivals that it will compete against. As has been popular on the social media, it will also launch Octavia’s limited edition in due time.
