Renault Kwid AMT Launching this Month, Bookings Open

Renault Kwid has been a very successful platform for the company. Now, the French automaker is adding another variant to the line-up- the Kwid AMT (Automatic). The dealers are promising the deliveries by the end of November and have already started accepting the bookings for a token amount of Rs 10,000. Although the pricing of Kwid AMT is not officially out, but some reports suggests it to be around Rs 4.2 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Renault had earlier showcased both Kwid 1.0 and the Kwid 1.0 AMT at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Kwid 1.0 was launched a couple of months back and garnered high demand from the customers yet again. Next up is the Kwid 1.0 AMT that will be officially launched this month.

The Kwid AMT will be powered by the 1.0-litre Sce engine that churns out 70PS of max power and
91 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties will be handled by a 5-Speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox. The company named this gearbox as ‘Easy-R AMT’ because it will feature a Shift Control Dial to switch between Drive, Neutral, and Reverse. Unlike the conventional AMT units, there is no Tiptronic option therefore, one cannot manually select gears. Renault will launch the KWID AMT in just top-spec RXT and RXT (O) variants. That way, it will come loaded with features like driver airbag, touchscreen infotainment unit, keyless entry, front power windows etc.
This Renault Hatchback will go up against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto AMT that is priced at 4.08 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi)
