There are not much details given regarding the price, engines or variants but here’s what we know- Skoda Kodiaq will be positioned near the Superb sedan. The pricing should be around Rs 30 lakh. In this price bracket, it will compete with SUV’s like Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

Based on the VW MQB platform, the Kodaiq shares its underpinnings with the new Superb. The USP that should work in its favour is that it’s a 7- seater SUV. In the international markets, the Kodiaq will be offered with multiple engine options. This includes 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine that makes 125PS of power and 200Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox, a 150PS/250Nm tuned 1.4 TSI engine that is paired with automatic DSG gearbox, a 2.0-litre TSI engine churning out 180PS of power and 320Nm of torque. Also, there is a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine offered in 2 states of tune 150PS/320Nm and 190PS/400Nm. If we were to guess, we would say that Skoda will bring the 1.4-litre TSI engine with 150PS/250Nm tune and a 2.0-litre TDI engine in 150PS/320Nm tune.

The Skoda will be highly kitted out in the features department, having umbrella holders, collision avoidance braking, door edge protection system, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof etc.
