Skoda Kodiaq SUV
Skoda Kodiaq was first revealed in September last year. This is a full fledged 7-Seater SUV that is based on the VW’s MQB Platform that can also be found on the VW Tiguan platform. Skoda Kodiaq stays true to its origins in terms of design as a lot of the design elements like bejewelled lighting and sharp creases can be seen on the latest Skoda Superb and Octavia. Powering the Kodiaq is a 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged the diesel motor that makes 150 PS of power and 340 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-Speed DSG gearbox. The bookings for the Kodiaq were opened in May itself.
Expected launch date: The Skoda Kodiaq will arrive in India by the end of this year.
Skoda Octavia RS
For the enthusiasts, the RS badge on the back of a Skoda means business. The Skoda Octavia RS is the regular Octavia on steroids. In the international markets, the Octavia RS can be had with petrol or diesel engine. The 2.0-litre petrol turbo engine makes 230PS of power and the 2.0-litre diesel motor makes 190 PS in the RS configuration. Here, we will only get the petrol engine. Not that we are complaining with 230 PS of power on tap.
The Octavia RS will stand out from the regular Octavia with the help of sportier body-kit, all-black theme inside and outside, rear spoiler, larger alloy rims. For better dynamics, the RS variant will also come with updated suspension.
Expected launch date: The Skoda Octavia RS will be launched next month.
Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Edition
The Rapid Monte Carlo edition is a limited edition variant based on the Skoda Rapid sedan. Like the international variant, the Monte Carlo edition in India will sport red paint, rear spoiler, black-leather interiors, Blacked out front grille and side mirrors. The sedan will ride on 16-inch alloy wheel and also come loaded with other extra features like flat bottom steering wheel, aluminium pedals, faux carbon fibre trim and metal scuff plates. The mechanicals will remain same as the regular Skoda Rapid.
unique aluminium scuff plates, faux-carbon fibre trim on the dashboard, a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, mobile holder, unique floor mats and upholstery with red stitching on the gear knob and aluminium sport pedals.
Expected launch date: Next Month
All three models-Skoda Kodiaq, Octavia RS and Rapid Monte Carlo will be manufactured at the company’s Aurangabad, Maharashtra plant.
Competition:
The Skoda Kodiaq (expected price- Rs 25 lakh) will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
