Tata Motors Opening Innovation Centres Globally?

Tata Motors aiming to climb up the ladder to the top three passenger vehicle makers India by 2019 as it bids high on mobility solutions and setting up of global innovation centres. With this step, it is preparing to be future ready and generate a worldwide presence. Silicon Valley, US, gets the first Tata innovation centre.

Tata Motors Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Guenter Butschek said, “Our objective is to find new and agile ways of innovating and experimenting. As an element to enable this goal, it has been decided to establish a more formal presence in specific locations globally.”

Butschek also told PTI in an email interview- “Tata Motors has embarked on a transformation journey with a vision to become future ready. In line with our mission to provide innovative mobility solutions… we are keenly exploring opportunities in mobility services that would allow us to offer seamless solutions to our customers in the future,”

The focus is on sustaining and expanding its branded product strategies in India. The company believes this will also provide a mould for future products and services. Other initiatives in this regard include tripling of the sales network, filling the gaps in its product portfolio, improving manufacturing processes and work on the brand image.
