Tata Tigor Pre-Bookings Open!

Tata Motors have opened the order books for its new subcompact sedan- Tata Tigor subcompact sedan. One can pre-book the Tigor for a token amount of Rs 5000. The official launch of the car is scheduled for later this month. The Tigor is based on the Tata Tiago hatchback and it also gets the same engine options. We might call it a sub-compact sedan, but Tata chooses to call it a ‘Styleback’. And we get it why, there is no other car in the market that has a silhouette like this.

The Tata Tigor is the automaker’s third entrant in the subcompact sedan after the Indigo eCS and the Zest. From the front theTigor looks similar to Tiago hatchback. However, other than that, the Tigor looks very fresh from all other angles. The notchback-like rear design language is the USP of this car, and that’s what ‘Styleback’ word is coined from.

Some other attractive design elements on the Tata Tigor include the smoked headlamps with projectors, LED tail lamps and alloy wheels. The interior gets a dual-tone colour scheme with 24 cubby holes, premium fabric seats, touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink for pairing with your phone. Moreover, one can also customise the AC vents.

The Tata Tigor shares its engine options with the Tiago. This includes-  1.2 litre Revotron petrol and a 1.05 litre Revotorq diesel three-cylinder engines. The petrol unit makes 85 PS of power, while the diesel makes 70 PS of power. Both units come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Tigor is pulling quite a lot of eyeballs and it’s expected to be the next big volume generator for TATA. The pricing for the Tata Tigor likely to fall between Rs 4.5-6 lakh (ex-showroom).
