Piaggio Group, the Italian manufacturer has launched its second model of the SR150 at the price of Rs 70,288, ex-showroom, Mumbai. Scooters are no longer the boring vehicle to complete your daily chores. This one has a sporty look to appeal to your senses. This one belongs to the race edition and will make you feel thrilled with faster acceleration. The all new Aprilia SR150 is powered by 154.4 cc air-cooled, single cylinder motor generating 11.5 PS at 7,000 rpm, and the max torque being 11.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Piaggio mentioned that the launch is a significant step in Aprilia’s India journey as the SR150 Race comes to the country within less than six months of the flagship SR150 introduction.
“The great response we got when we introduced the SR150 in India last year gave us the confidence that the market is now ripe for change,” said Stefano Pelle, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd Managing Director and CEO. Commenting on the pricing, he believes it is competitive “which makes it appeal to the youth who are driven by quality and differentiation in all their adventures”.
Further adding to it, he said, “Our philosophy as a company is to do things differently. This is clearly evident from our range of offerings in India and the fact that we have been fairly successful in winning the patronage of our esteemed customers.”
In terms of its appearance, it looks dashing with the new maze grey color that it is now wearing, a departure from the existing model. It features assertive exhaust muffler, revamped graphics and a red hue on the rear wheel and monoshock spring. The frame remains unchanged. Earlier the Aprilia SR150 was priced at Rs 65,000, ex-showroom Delhi at time of its launch with a premium ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000.
