Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Night Edition debuts at Detroit Auto Show in January 2017
Mercedes-Benz has revealed a new special edition called as S-Class Coupe ‘Night Edition’. According to the reports, the car will make its official debut at the 2017 North American International Auto Show, in Detroit. The car will go on sale from April 2017. After its unveil at the Detroit Auto Show, Mercedes will start taking pre-orders from 9th January 2017 itself.
The car is based on the Mercedes-Benz S 500 Coupé and as the name suggests, on the outside, the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Night Edition features a Selenite grey magno hue along with black treatment all around the exterior of the car. The front features a new updated grille with a single louvre in high-gloss black, black air intake grille and a dark chrome chin blade completing the design. The Night Edition gets an exclusive set of 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, which are painted black and have high sheen detailing. The wing mirror housing and inserts in the side sill are painted glossy black. That said, the Selenite grey magno paint comes as standard.
The inside of the car has some similar dark touches added to it. The cabin comes with an array of options for the upholstery, which includes – regular leather, Nappa leather or AMG Nappa leather in black/black; crystal grey/black; saddle brown/black; or Bengal red/black. A high-gloss black poplar wood trim comes as standard. Night Edition” wording are engraved on the steering wheel with a Nappa leather AMG.
Mercedes offers the new S-Class Coupe Night Edition in three powertrain options – S 400 4Matic, S 500 and S 500 4Matic. The latter two are powered by the same 4.7-litre V8 engine that belts out 451PS of power and a peak torque of 700Nm. The carmaker also offers the car with a 3.0-litre V6 motor the makes 367bhp and develops 500Nm of peak torque.
All three models of this new edition are capable of reaching a top speed of 250kmph and while 0-100kmph is achieved at 5.6-seconds in the S 400 4Matic, the S 500 and S 500 4Matic do the same in 4.6-seconds.
