New Skoda Rapid launched, Pricing starts at Rs 8.27 lakh

Skoda has launched the facelifted version of its compact sedan Rapid. The new Skoda Rapid comes with several cosmetic upgrades along with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine option. The pricing of the new Rapid starts at Rs 8.27 lakh and goes up to 12.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The dealerships across the country had already started taking bookings from 25th October for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

As expected the design of the car is inspired by the latest Skoda offerings like Superb and Octavia. At the front, there is a new 3D front grill, refreshed headlights, and foglamp. The rear of the car also gets some updates including the smoked C-shaped tail lamps

There are two engine options for the Rapid: 1.6-litre MPI 4-Cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 103PS of power along with 153 Nm of torque whereas, the diesel engine churns out 108PS of power along with 250Nm of torque. Both the engines can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 7-Speed DSG automatic transmission.

The features list is also updated to include automatic headlights, mirrorlink infotainment system, USB port , Bluetooth, and rain sensing wipers. Moreover, airbags and ABS come as standard fitment. Some other driver aids are Hill-hold control, rear parking sensors, and Electronic Stability Control.
