Updated Range Rover Evoque Launched at Rs 49.10 lakh
When the world is taking it easy and enjoying the festive season, Land Rover is not done with 2016 yet. The British SUV manufacturer has taken wraps off the 2017 Evoque. The prices for the updated Evoque has been announced. Let’s look at the six versions that are available:
- Pure: Rs 49.10 Lakh
- SE: Rs 54.20 Lakh
- Dynamic: Rs 56.30 Lakh
- HSE: Rs 59.25 Lakh
- HSE Dynamic: Rs 64.65 Lakh
- HSE Dynamic Ember Edition: Rs 67.90 Lakh
It is important to notice that prices stayed broadly unchanged with an update. Also, the Evoque is available with a diesel engine only at this time. The Si4 petrol version will be introduced in January 2017.
The biggest update for the MY17 Evoque is located under the skin. The 2.2 litre SD4 engine has been replaced with an entirely new all-aluminum 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel that also powers the Jaguar XF. This four-pot engine makes 180PS of power and 430Nm of torque. This is 10PS less and 10Nm is more than the SD4 engine that it replaces. It is interesting that unlike the Jaguar XF that gets and 8-speed gearbox, the Evoque continues to utilise the 9-speed automatic transmission.
Since this is a Land Rover product, there is no compromise with its offroad capability. The all-wheel-drive is standard with all models. The Evoque also gets the Land Rover’s acclaimed Terrain Response System. This allows the driver the switch between modes depending on the terrain like sand and rocks, grass or snow.
The interior update includes a new 10-inch touch-screen infotainment screen, that is now available in top-spec HSE and HSE Dynamic variants. The lower trims, however, gets an 8-inch touchscreen. Some of the other luxuries are Oxford leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, electric seats, heads-up display and a powered liftgate., Range Rover added the “Ember Edition ‘to the Evoque lineup. The special edition is based on the top-spec HSE Dynamic variant and gets a unique black and red motif inside out. The exterior is finished in’ Santorini Black” in contrast
