Yamaha MT-03 Launching During Festive Season

Time to get excited! Several reports are suggesting that the Yamaha is going to launch the MT-03 during the festive season (Diwali). Showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Mt-03 is the naked motorcycle that shares most of its components with the YZF-R3. Yamaha YZF-R3 is already offered in the Indian market but it has failed to rack up the decent sales. When launched, the Yamaha MT-03 is likely to be priced at around Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Yamaha MT-03 shares its design with the MT-25- beefy tank, exposed frame, led tail lamp, muscular lines, and aggressive stance. Powering the naked motorcycle will the same parallel twin engine that does duty on the YZF-R3. It produces 42ps of peak power at 10,750rpm and 29.6Nm of max torque at 9,000rpm. The power unit is mated to a cassette type 6-Speed gearbox.

Stopping power comes from the single-disc brake setup at the front and back, however, the ABS system won’t be offered for the Indian market. This motorcycle will compete with bikes like Benelli TNT300, KTM Duke 390, Kawasaki Z250, and soon to be launched BMW G 301 R.
