2018 Renault Duster Prototype Spotted

The Renault Duster has brought in a lot of sales for the company ever since it was launched in 2012. Recently, Duster received a lot of updates like AMT gearbox, 4×4 variant, and a minor facelift. But, in spite of that, the Renault Duster is starting to show its age. Therefore, the company is working on a next-generation Duster that is expected to launch next year. The first few images of the new Duster test mule is doing rounds on the internet.

The photographed test mule was heavily disguised but we can understand the overall silhouette. Renault Duster is known for is rugged looks, and we shall see that in the next-gen Duster as well. The headlamps are more rectangular and the front bumper is also bigger. The straight body design looks a mix of Jeep and Land Rover; which is a good thing. The 2018 Renault Duster will be based on the latest CMF-B platform. This platform is the extended version of the Kwid’s CMF-A platform and is expected to be lighter than before.

The engine options for the new Duster is still a mystery. Presently, the Duster comes with two engine options- 1.5-litre petrol making 104PS and 1.5-litre diesel motor is two states of tune 84PS and 108PS. Since Nissan Terrano is basically a Duster with Nissan’s Badging, the next-gen 2018 Nissan Terrano will also follow up soon.
