Launched: Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Select Plus, Priced Rs 28.6 lakh

As the SUV market is heating up with the new launches, Mitsubishi has also stepped in with the Pajero Sport Select Plus. The Select Plus is a new variant addition that adds extra jazz to the Pajero Sport. The price of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Select Plus has been kept at Rs 28.9 lakhs for the automatic version (2WD), and 29.3 lakhs for the Manual transmission model (4WD). The Select Plus variant commands around 1.2 lakh extra over the regular Pajero Sport.

What does this extra 1.2 lakhs get you? The special edition variant comes in two-tone paint options, chrome door handles, daytime-running-lights, blacked-out radiator grille, illuminated scuff plates, front bull-bar and flared wheels arches. Other extras on the inside include beverage chiller, Rear entertainment screens, HID headlights, cruise control, and electric folding mirrors. The regular Pajero Sport itself is a pretty loaded SUV with touchscreen-infotainment, a navigation system, parking cameras, and dual-zone climate control.

Under the skin, everything’s still the same. It is powered by a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that can be had with a manual or an automatic transmission. The Very important factor to consider between the two gearboxes is that the automation version is the two-wheel-drive SUV, whereas the one with manual transmission is a true 4×4 SUV. The engine makes a decent 178PS of power at 4000rpm and the torque value stands at 350Nm for the auto variant and 400Nm for the manual option. The Pajero Sport directly competes with the two latest SUVs- Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner.
