2018 Mini Cooper Lineup Refreshed for India (Price starts @ Rs 29.70 lakh)
Mini brand positioning in unique in a way that it always conveys excitement and youthfulness. To keep this youthfulness alive, Mini lineup in India has received a refreshment. These updates were introduced in the International markets before us so we were just waiting for them to arrive here. These updates effects all the three models for the Mini Cooper- 3-door, 5-door and convertible. However, no information has been provided if the JCW edition will get any updates. Exterior Changes
On the outside, the Mini emblems are changed, headlights are new with LED DRLs, Redesigned 18-inch alloys, adaptive LED headlights with cornering lights are on the options list. The taillights have a ‘Union Jack’ design to highlight British roots.
Interiors
Move inside, and the Union Jack is also placed on the dash, and a new logo on the instrument cluster and steering wheel. The steering wheel itself is redesigned and has mounted control buttons. 2018 Mini Cooper gets new sports seats too. On the options list is a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting with a choice of 12 colors, and puddle lamp with monogrammic logo.
Lik the previous model, the new Mini retains the LED ring around the centre console. The touchscreen can be upgraded to 6.5-inch or 8.8-inch display with Mini Radio Boost, Apple CarPlay, Navigation, and Telephony with wireless charging. Keeping up with times, the Bluetooth connectivity comes as a standard feature.
Engines (Petrol and Diesel)
Mini Cooper S and the Convertible Cooper S are powered by the same 2.0-litre, 4 cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 192 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. Mated to this engine is a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox that helps propel the car to 100 kph in just 6.7 seconds. The top-speed is rated at 235 kph.
The diesel Mini variants gets a 1.5-litre, 3 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that pumps out 114 PS of power and 270 Nm of torque. With this engine, the 100 kph comes up in a decent 9.2 seconds.
2018 Mini lineup can be had in 14 different paint, out of which three are new additions- Solaris Orange metallic, Emerald Grey metallic and Starlit Blue metallic. In India, Mini competes with cars like Mercedes A-Class, BMW X1, Volvo V40, and Skoda Octavia RS.
