Mercedes-Benz GLC Celebration Edition Launched
On the occasion of India’s 70th Independence day, Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLC Celebration Edition. The special edition Mercedes-Benz GLC is available in both petrol and diesel models. The pricing for the petrol GLC celebration Edition is kept at Rs 51.25 lakh, while the diesel model is priced at Rs 50.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi pricing). This means that the Celebration Edition models command a premium of Rs 88,000 over the Sport trim of standard cars- GLC 300 and GLC 220d. Last year, the prices for the GLC were dropped because it’s now made-in-India (assembled).
What’s special about Celebration Edition?
It gets some extra features like gloss black wing mirrors, metal foot controls with non-slip studs, puddle lamp with Mercedes hologram projection, chrome inserts at the front and rear, and Garmin Map Pilot loaded in SD-Card for offline navigation assistance.
Apart from adding the Celebration Edition, Mercedes-Benz has also introduced a new Designo Hyacinth red paint across the GLC range. Quite recently, the performance variant of this SUV- the GLC 43 AMG was introduced (read more about it here).
Engine & Gearbox options-
The GLC 300 packs a 2.0-litre petrol engine that puts out 245PS of power at 5500rpm and 370Nm of torque between 1300 to 4000rpm. The GLC 220d comes with a 2.1-litre diesel engine that makes 170PS of power between 3000 to 4200rpm and 400Nm of torque between 1400 to 2800rpm. Both these engines come mated to 9-Speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
