More Volvo XC40 Variants Inbound?
Just days after launching their most affordable luxury crossover, reports suggest that more Volvo XC40 variants are inbound.
TeamBHP have gotten their hands on a page from the brochure detailing a variant-wise breakdown. The sheet suggests that we may soon see a more affordable, Momentum variant and a slightly more expensive, Inscription trim of the XC40 SUV.
If the image is to be believed, we can rest assured that the petrol variants are still a long way from making it to India. For now, only the diesel models will rock the boat for Volvo.
Volvo XC40 SUV Launched in India (Price & Images Inside)
Volvo XC40 Variants
- R-Design (Launched)
- Momentum (Expected soon)
- Inscription (Expected soon)
Volvo XC40 Momentum
This variant may be about Rs. 2.0-2.5 lakh cheaper than the R-Design. With a price tag of Rs. 38 lakh (ex-showroom), it will rival the Audi Q3 Quattro with diesel engine and all-wheel drive. The Q3 carries a price tag of Rs. 39.68 lakh (ex-showroom).
On the feature front, the Volvo XC40 Momentum will carry over the same mechanicals as the R-Design. So, the 2-litre diesel engine with 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive will be standard across the range.
The rest of the package will be a little diluted but it’ll get the essentials that make a Volvo a Volvo. It won’t get the following features though:
- Keyless entry
- Heated seats
- Power-operated tailgate
- Adaptive cruise control
- Automatic parking
- Harman-Kardon 13-speaker 600W music system
- Wireless mobile charging
- Diamond-cut alloy wheels
Volvo XC40 Inscription
The Inscription variant will be more or less the same as the R-Design. But it’ll be a little less sporty in its appearance and come with a few luxurious touches. This might come with a price tag of about Rs. 42 lakh.
Volvo XC60 Also Getting New Variants
Besides the XC40 variants, we have heard that the XC60 will also get new trim levels. The XC60 is about to enter into local production this quarter. We’re expecting the launch of the new variants of Volvo’s mid-size crossover to coincide with the rollout of the locally-assembled XC60.
